Contemporary Curl Cut Instructions
Please arrive to your appointment in a defined Wash and Go Style (don't worry, do your absolute best).
And if you don't know how to accomplish a wash and go, please show up to your appointment with hair that is free of oil, cleansed, styled and detangled within the last 7 days. If you have been using oil/butters in your current routine I will need you to at least detox (scroll down for an explanation) your hair 14 days prior to your appointment. PLEASE DON'T OVERTHINK THE INSTRUCTIONS, DO YOUR BEST!
Hydrate & Define/Wash & Go Step By Step
1. Shampoo hair with a shea FREE + oil FREE + sulfate FREE shampoo (please do not cowash).
Favorites: AG Balance (Ulta)
2. Apply shea FREE + oil FREE conditioner.
Favorites: AG BOOST (Ulta)
3. Apply a styling product with hold.
Favorites: IC Fantasia Clear gel, Uncle Funky's Curly Magic, Curl Mix
Pull hair back with clips, rubber bands, head bands, hats, or any other item
Do not use Shea or Oil based products. Usage of Shea Moisture, Cantu, or similar brands will be subject to an upcharge.
Arriving with hair in any other state beyond what is indicated here will have a $60 Hydrate and Define service added to their service charge.
For all other services
Please arrive with hair that is completely unbraided/untwisted that has been cleansed within the last 7-10 days and has no oil + product residue. Excessive detangling will incur an additional fee.
What is a detox?
A detox consist of eliminating oils, butters and silicones from your routine at least 14 days prior to your appointment. It is recommended that you use a clarifying shampoo, followed by a moisture poo at least 2 sessions prior to your scheduled appointment.
Who should detox?
Detoxing is recommended for clients who are currently on a routine that consists of oils/butters. It is also recommended for those who co-wash exclusively, use alternative shampoo methods, those using mild cleansers and those using products containing silicones (they build up on the hair).
What should you use to detox with?
Clarifying Shampoo- Kinky Curl Knot Today, Malibu Un-doo Goo
All Purpose Cleansers- AG Blance, Trepodora Goji Berry Hair rinse (if you choose these options you will need to detox for at least 28 days prior to your appointment using either of these cleansers for at least 4 shampoo sessions). No need for moisture poo, but you can use if you like.
Moisture Poo- Innersense Hydrating Cream Hair Bath.
Why is detoxing important?
Being able to service my clients efficiently is top priority for me, and doing so will require the participation of the clients that plan to partner with me. It will also make for a more pleasurable and swift service for you as well. Thus leading to less time spent in the salon.

We value our guests time and we ask our guests to extend the same courtesy. We kindly request you reserve your appointments with a credit card to guarantee reservations. No monies are charged in the reservation of your appointment. HOWEVER if you do not show up 50% of your scheduled appointment will be charged to your card.
Aishia Strickland has a 48 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel or change your appointment with less than 48 hours notice, you will either lose your 50% deposit or be charged a fee determined by Aishia based on your service.
This policy is in place out of respect for Aishia's time. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice are difficult to fill. By giving last minute notice or no notice at all, you prevent someone else from being able to schedule into that time slot.
Non-cancellations or "NO-SHOWS" will be blocked and will not be allowed to schedule an appointment.
It's understood "life happens". If for any reason you are expecting to be late by 10 minutes or more to a scheduled appointment, please call me!
I work very hard to schedule the right amount of time for each service. Accommodating late guests is often impossible without disrupting every other guest schedule that day. Please be aware in the unfortunate event you are late, we cannot guarantee that your services will be performed that day. Tardiness may require rescheduling your appointment for another day.
As a courtesy, I make every effort to notify you of your appointment date and time. You will receive an email AND a confirmation 12hours before your appointment by text if I have your information on file. I confirm in advance as a courtesy because I understand how easy it is to forget an appointment you booked months ago. However, it is your responsibility to remember your appointment dates and times and inform me if your contact information has changed.
For safety reasons and insurance purposes, no child under the age of 12 may accompany you while you are having a service. We do not have the facilities to care for children. We love children, and we hope you understand that we cannot assure their safety in a professional environment. We also do not want to compromise the relaxation of our guests. Your understanding is greatly appreciated.
In the event that you are not satisfied with your service, I ask you to please contact me within 7 days of your original appointment to receive a complimentary re-do service (instances may vary). I would like every opportunity to meet and exceed your expectations, as I value you as a guest.
